The Marion Garden Group’s Mission
To assist in the enhancement of the town’s parks and landscape projects, and to further expand members’ knowledge of gardening through discussions and presentations by experts in the field.
Our Story:
The Marion Garden Group is an organization of Marion residents, and residents in towns contiguous to Marion (Mattapoisett, Rochester, and Wareham), interested in gardening.
Founded in 1956, and originally named the Marion Garden and Discussion Group, members voted to simplify the name to Marion Garden Group in 2010. In addition to planting and maintaining the town’s window boxes and planters, members conduct flower arranging workshops at area nursing homes and host monthly meetings featuring guest speakers on topics of interest. An annual Wreath Sale and Holiday Greens Boutique in December, provides natural decorations for village homes and tables.
